Traveling with Baby
laid back beach living with a California attitude
The world is a big place and there is no better time to enjoy a beach baby vacation than when the children are young.
Rest, relaxation and rejuvenation for the adults; and lots of surfing fun for the children gives the whole family a chance to bond and share new experiences.
Let us guide you with our top travel tips for the best baby friendly vacation ever.

- Little ones need extra care in the heat to make sure they do not become dehydrated. Keep
babies under six months of age out of the direct sun. Feed baby frequently, with breast milk
or formula. Use a wide brimmed hat.
- Encourage your children to wear sunglasses that protect against ultraviolet rays.
- It used to be advised that you should not use sunscreen on babies less than six months old,
but the American Academy of Pediatrics now states that sunscreen is probably safe to use on
younger children, especially if you just use it on small areas of your baby's skin that is
exposed to the sun and not protected by clothing, such as the infant's hands and face.
- Bring along anything you or your baby can’t live without. Bring baby’s favorite blanket or
lovie. Don’t assume you will be able to find a replacement for things on the road.
- Work in some down time for you and the baby. Babies can become over-stimulated and fussy
during travel. Try to plan longer flights and car trips during times they might be naturally
sleeping to allow them that much needed rest. Try to rest when the baby is resting so that you
also do not become overtired.
- Dress baby in 100% cotton. Hawaiian baby clothes and tropical sun-dresses will keep baby
comfortable, cool and styling.
